I found a roll of film from a work trip to Cajarmaca in Peru in 2005, this photo is from the village of Huanico in the highlands. the only way these people can get to the nearest town is on the back of the milk truck .. on the pails.. it takes 24 hrs.. it only goes once a day .. and it costs a fortune.. In a 4x4 it takes 4 hrs .. most of that is the last 22km..
I hope by now the road has been improved and maybe there is a bus service .. but I wonder .. I will try to find out what has happened there ..
